Labor Bar - The Blok Club has reopened under new owners and is now called the Labor Bar. The club was notorious for its "Debauched Trash Parties" every Sunday. The new owners transformed this location into a very trendy club attracting young teens who enjoy techno music or underground theme-parties. Unlike most Swiss clubs, Blok is reasonable priced and has no dress code.
Dynamo - Jugendkulturhaus Dynamo, also known as the Drahtschmidli, is a youth center by the Limmat river in Zürich. The space hosts workshops, concerts, and plays. It also includes a restaurant and club. This is the perfect place to hang out with friends, meet new people, have food and drinks, or go for a swim in the river. It has a very casual, easy-going and grungy atmosphere. It is also conveniently close to the Zurich Main Station. Dynamo created a space with club rooms, craft rooms, workshops, a large multi-purpose room with a stage. They have a mix of typical electro club music and some more “indie and quirky” bands playing on the weekends, so check our their events if you want to keep your weekends wild.
Moods - Moods is a small jazz-oriented music venue & cocktail bar located in a former factory. They offer live concerts almost everyday, and the first ten minutes of every recorded concert can be watched for free without registration. It has a relaxing atmosphere for anyone who enjoys music ranging between jazz, funk, soul, blues and R&B. It is located in the Schiffbau at the center of District 5 in Zurich. It offers over 300 concerts per season and was added to the list of the “150 Great Jazz Venues” in Downbeat Magazine.
Plaza - Plaza is a club that includes 3 bars and 4 lounges on the ground floor and another bar and dancefloor on the second floor. However, you have to be 18+ to dance the night away at the club, however you can still feel the famous Plaza atmosphere with a little loophole.
The Plaza Bar on the second floor is probably the biggest fumoir in the city, offering a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere (if you're a smoker, that is). The bar grants entrance from the club, as well as from the street, meaning you can come in if you're 16+. It has open floor-to-ceiling windows as well as outdoor tables during the summer. In winter, you can observe the chaotic streets of Langstrasse from the inside with a Baileys coffee in your hand. Plaza's bar has a laid-back vibe where guests can meet for a drink any day of the week.
